I urge the UK Government and Parliament to review university maintenance loans, ensure they keep pace with inflation and living costs, fairly support families with multiple children in higher education, and prevent funding shortfalls and inequality. Taking into account increase in university fees.

Current university maintenance loans fail to cover real living costs. Some families supporting multiple children are under severe financial pressure, causing students to struggle to afford basic needs. Rising costs in accommodation and university fees and more importantly unemployment for young people, mean many students aren't able to support themselves either. Making it urgent that loans are reviewed and increased for families with multiple siblings to ensure fairness for all students.
