With insurers having exclusions relating to war and, in our experience, refusing along with some airlines to cover our costs for hotels and missed flights, we ask the government to step in. It should provide funds to compensate UK nationals stranded by the Middle East conflict, for their expenses.
Help with covering costs to ensure no UK national is left out of pocket with hotel and food costs as a result of being stuck in a conflict zone. The government has proposed to offer up to £40,000 to failed asylum seeker families to leave the UK, and we feel it should also be looking after stranded nationals.
