After the invasion of Ukraine, temporary, government funded licensing and quarantine arrangements were introduced making it easier for Ukrainian refugees to bring their pets to the UK. These should extend to UK citizens returning from conflict regions who face strict pet import rules.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, temporary, government funded licensing and quarantine arrangements were introduced making it easier for Ukrainian refugees to bring their pets to the UK. UK citizens returning from conflict regions, including parts of the Middle East, often face strict import rules that make bringing their pets extremely difficult. The UK Government should extend similar temporary arrangements so returning residents can bring their pets safely and humanely.
