Knife crime continues to harm communities across the UK. Weapons like machetes and hunting knives are capable of causing devastating injuries and are too easily obtained. We believe stronger regulation is needed to reduce violent crime and protect public safety.
Introduce a licensing system for the purchase and possession of machetes and hunting knives. Individuals should be required to show a legitimate need, such as hunting, farming, or professional work, and pass appropriate background checks. This would reduce access to dangerous blades while still allowing responsible, lawful use.
