We want the UK Government to ban the sale of single-use plastic drinks bottles in all primary and secondary schools, and require schools to provide sustainable alternatives such as refill stations and reusable bottle schemes.

Why is this important? In 2018, the Government told schools to remove single-use plastics by 2022. Yet in 2026, many still sell plastic bottles daily to students. We are teaching children one thing and modelling another. We believe this drives litter, pollution and microplastic exposure. We think schools must lead — not lag — and switch to refillable alternatives. In our view single use plastics are damaging not only the planet by our children bodies, and this isn’t just an environmental issue it is a safe guarding issue.
