Milestones

We call on the Government to extend the time limit for Employment Tribunal claims from 3 months 90 days to at least 10 years. We believe the current limit is too short and prevents many workers from seeking justice for issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, & unpaid wages.

People often cannot act in time due to lack of awareness, emotional distress, ongoing grievances, fear of retaliation, financial barriers. In other areas of law, serious cases can be brought years later, recognising that victims may not come forward immediately. We feel that employment law should reflect similar fairness. We believe extending the limit would: Give workers a realistic chance to claim, Increase employer accountability, Improve compliance with employment law, Better protect vulnerable workers.
