I call on the Government to appoint a dedicated Domestic Abuse Commissioner for Children and Young People. To ensure accountability, ring-fenced funding, and specialist trauma-informed support for all young victims—including those still in the home, in refuge, in care, or care leavers up to age 25.

1 in 5 UK children live with domestic abuse. Despite the 2021 Act, young victims are being re-traumatized by a system that mislabels their trauma as "bad behavior" or "perpetration." There is a £232m shortfall in specialist services, leaving children in refuges and care without emotional support. Care leavers (18-25) face a "cliff edge" of homelessness and unprocessed trauma. I want a Commissioner to stop the criminalization of trauma and ensure ring-fenced funding to break the cycle.
