Require Motability to maintain higher mileage options for disabled people who need to travel more than 30,000 miles in three years and not to proceed with the changes planned for 1 July. We believe these changes will risk restricting access to work, healthcare and essential independence.
We believe the reduced mileage allowance and increased excess charges mean many disabled people with essential high mileage needs may no longer be able to use the Motability scheme. In our view this risks limiting access to work, healthcare and independent living: a fair higher mileage option would ensure the scheme meets the real needs of disabled people.
