Require all Local Authorities to scan the microchip of cats and dogs if found deceased. So many pets go missing and although it is a requirement on responsible owners like myself to make sure they are microchipped, I believe that not all deceased pets are scanned. This must be addressed.
I call on the Government to make it a legal requirement for all deceased dogs and cats to be scanned after they have been found. I think this could stop the heartbreaking continued search for lost family members! My cat has been missing 5 weeks and only learned recently the microchip might not bring him back if picked up by the local council
