Some medical cannabis patients may be isolated and fearful despite having legal prescriptions. We want the Government to legalise and fund safe, regulated cafés where patients can use their medication, access support, and feel part of a community without stigma.
Medical cannabis has been legal in the UK since 2018 under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, yet patients remain isolated and unsupported. We feel there are no safe, recognised spaces to use prescribed medication, which can create fear and stigma. Regulated cafés could reduce isolation, provide education and community, and ensure patients can access their treatment with dignity and support.
