Review how well Integrated Care Boards are facilitating access to autism and ADHD assessments under Right to Choose to enable quick access and to ensure patients already on waiting lists are assessed within a reasonable timeframe.
Across England, there are reports that families are being told that Right to Choose autism and ADHD assessments are being restricted or paused by Integrated Care Boards. Some children already on waiting lists face long or indefinite delays. Without assessment, they cannot access support in education or evidence for DLA, leaving families without help. We believe this is undermining the Right to Choose system as it delays early intervention, risking long-term harm to children’s development and mental health.
