Milestones

Create and fund visible opportunities for younger people of 13+ to work on heritage railway preservation, teaching them skills to help uphold the standards of preservation, and potentially creating a bigger future workforce. Work closely with relevant regulatory and rail bodies to make it happen.

The government, and many in society, have sometimes boasted of our heritage and the great past. I think the heritage railway scene is great and that enabling young people to take part in it would help steer some youths who may otherwise be at risk of involvement in crime into something meaningful and certainly interesting. It could allow the force of young people to help keep the culture of steam railways and rockstars of the steam world alive. It would be there to teach young people essential skills of preservation.
