Fund support package to encourage house building, including simpler, faster, cheaper rules-based planning consent process powered by AI, and financial incentives for people to buy/improve their homes, incentivise careers in building & construction, accelerate training and talent attraction.

We believe that building & construction, the backbone of Britain’s economy, is in crisis; due to high financing costs, planning gridlock, skilled labour shortages, rising compliance burdens, no financial stimulus for homebuyers. In our view builders & tradespeople are leaving in droves because the economics no longer stack up. Research suggests that 225,000 additional tradespeople needed by 2027 to build 565,000 new homes needed annually to close 6.5 million housing gap. We think if action like that suggested in this petition is taken, construction output could improve. One forecast suggests it would surge by 10% (2026) & 11% (2027) if barriers removed.
