The UK Government should expand the Windrush Compensation Scheme to provide automatic, standardised compensation to members of the Windrush generation who worked in the UK and to their children and grandchildren.
The UK Gov should expand the WC Scheme to provide automatic payments to documented claimants and their children and grandchildren. Many were underpaid, denied pensions, and lost opportunities, causing lasting harm. The current scheme requires extensive proof, many records are missing, claimants are elderly or deceased, creating a barrier to justice. Automatic payments recognise intergenerational impact and restore fairness. This is not new spending—it is an “outstanding inv” for wage and pension
