Where a school has determined that bullying has occurred, make it mandatory for the school to expel bullies, and for the victims of bullying to receive support.
Too often bullying goes unpunished, and we are concerned that some schools do nothing about it. They might make pupils change seat or change class, but the problem is still there. Telling pupils to ‘just ignore them’ or ‘just stay away from them’ is not good enough. It's serious. It takes lives. Ensure bullies are appropriately punished and investigated and victims are properly taken care of with school counselling. I know what it’s like. I didn’t get help. I’m trying to help all the other victims get the help they need to not be traumatised forever.
