Milestones

Fund healthcare tuition fees and reintroduce living grants. The NHS spends £2bn+ on agency staff while students work thousands of clinical hours for free. We think we must remove debt barriers & placement poverty to stop dropouts, end the staffing crisis, and ensure the NHS is staffed for the future

In our view, current student debt levels create an elitist barrier, preventing the NHS from reflecting the diverse communities it serves. We believe removing these hurdles is essential for social mobility, ensuring the most talented candidates, not just the wealthiest, enter the profession. We think funding degrees is a strategic national investment that ensures safe staffing ratios, reduces trainee burnout, and guarantees a resilient, world-class health service for the next generation. It is time to treat healthcare training as a public good
