Require earlier Clare’s Law right to know disclosures from the police where there is clear risk, and improve awareness of right to ask through schools, workplaces and public information so more people know the scheme exists and can seek help sooner.
Many victims only learn of a partner’s abusive history after serious harm has already occurred. Earlier disclosure and more awareness could help people make safer choices sooner. Posters and adverts with Clare’s Law details in schools, workplaces and public spaces could help people recognise risk, understand coercive control and stalking, and know where to seek help.
