Milestones

Require police and prosecutors to have more extensive trauma training to help them consider evidence in rape cases in a trauma-informed way. Include the psychological, physical and functional impact of the offence. Provide guidance to juries on the impact of trauma.

I feel strongly that the lasting impact of trauma after rape is not properly recognised in rape investigations and trials. I want the justice system to be better informed to help victims.
