We ask the UK Government to introduce rules preventing popular online platforms geared towards children from requiring facial scans or facial data for access to core services.
Some platforms popular with children, such as gaming platforms, have introduced facial age checks using third-party software. Many parents are concerned about their children’s faces being scanned and how that data is handled. We also request that the government investigate other apps that use these systems.
