Milestones

We want the Government to force UK Based Employers to provide clarification in rejection emails as to whether an AI system (such as Applicant Tracking Software (ATS)) was used to provide the initial rejection and to provide a means for a 'Right of Reply' if jobseekers feel this was made in error.

The Government should require UK employers to disclose when ATS or other AI systems are used to automatically reject job applications. These tools often scan for keywords without context, which can disadvantage dyslexic and neurodivergent applicants, undervalue apprenticeships and hands-on experience, and reinforce class barriers in hiring. Applicants should also have a clear right of reply where they believe an automated rejection has been made in error.
