Milestones

• Publicly advocate for free, fair, and transparent elections in Nigeria • Review diplomatic engagement with Nigerian electoral bodies where concerns of partisanship and impartiality arise • Implement targeted visa bans and sanctions on individuals found to be responsible for electoral malpractice

Recent electoral concerns have raised questions among members of the Nigerian diaspora and the international community regarding transparency and impartiality in Nigeria’s democratic processes. We call on the UK Government to use its diplomatic influence to support credible, free, and fair elections in Nigeria. We further urge the UK Government to implement visa ban for those whose action are responsible for weakening Nigeria’s opposition and or the credibility of Nigeria’s election.
