Create a safeguarding register to which police, education, health, councils and other agencies can input information they collect about people who may pose a risk to children. Parents should be able to request information from this register, with independent oversight.
In our view, agencies often fail to act in cases where children are at risk due to not having the full context of a situation. For example, where a child discloses abuse but withdraws due to trauma or coercion, we think the system frequently fails to act due to not having the full history or context. We would like this to be called “Eva’s law”.
