Milestones

Fund and require the NHS to assess all severe period pain early, providing faster referrals, diagnostic tests, specialist treatment, and staff training. Expand menstrual health education in schools, including on severe period pain, to help conditions be identified sooner and reduce suffering.

Women and girls with severe period pain are too often dismissed or wait years for diagnosis. Conditions like Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and Uterine fibroids can damage health, education, work and wellbeing. Early assessment and faster treatment could reduce suffering, improve outcomes, and stop pain being ignored.
