Petitions/Change the law for opposite-sex couples to convert civil partnership to marriage

Milestones

Allow opposite-sex couples to convert civil partnerships into marriage without dissolution, Remove mandatory waiting period linked to dissolution, Introduce a simple administrative conversion process Set fees similar to those paid by same-sex couples This would ensure equal treatment

We believe this is unfair. Couples who wish to remain together and simply change their legal status should not be required to “end” their relationship in law, face long delays, or pay significantly higher costs. This creates inequality between same-sex and opposite-sex couples and could place unnecessary emotional, legal and financial burdens on families.
