Work with NHS organisations to improve workforce planning, develop transition-to-practice initiatives, and provide equitable and prompt hiring opportunities for newly qualified nurses upon registration.
In order to facilitate the employment of newly qualified nurses following registration, we want the Government to collaborate with NHS organisations to enhance workforce planning and recruitment. More entry-level nursing positions should be created, supported transition-to-practice and preceptorship programs should be expanded, university-employer collaboration should be strengthened, and fair and prompt hiring procedures should be ensured. This could improve patient care, lessen a staff shortage, and help retain qualified nurses.
