Milestones

We want Government to ensure the introduction and enforcement of minimum safe staffing levels in NHS hospitals, strengthen accountability for poor patient care and set up a review of discharge practices.

We also want the Government to require the use of monitored safeguarding measures on wards caring for vulnerable patients. We hear of many patients, particularly elderly & vulnerable people, who experience unacceptable standards of care in NHS hospitals; patients left without basic dignity due to staff shortages; important medical notes not read or followed; & patients handled in ways that risk further injury; as well as concerns about patients being discharged too early due to pressure on hospital beds. We believe these systemic problems require Government action.
