I believe individuals should have the ability to discuss their concerns with a healthcare professional and make an informed choice about whether screening is right for them, rather than being restricted solely by age. Due to me losing my dad to cancer I'm extremely scared of getting cancer.
Living with anxiety means these thoughts can become overwhelming, and the uncertainty can be difficult to manage. As a parent, this fear is even more significant—I worry about the impact on my child if something were to happen to me. Having the option to access cervical screening before the age of 25 would provide reassurance and could have a meaningful positive impact on mental wellbeing for people in similar situations.
