Review whether there is adequate access to ultrasound scans for newborns as soon as they show signs or symptoms of pyloric stenosis. We believe quicker access could help stop newborns being misdiagnosed with other conditions, reduce unnecessary use of medications and protect newborns from early on.
My son was put through 5 weeks of misdiagnosis and unnecessary medications. He had surgery at 8 weeks old to treat his condition (Pyloric Stenosis). This could have been treated earlier on if the signs/symptoms had been acted on earlier. A scan takes 3 minutes to confirm if a newborn has PS.
