Milestones

Introduce a law requiring immediate suspension of a driver’s licence after a road traffic collision causing death or serious injury, pending a full investigation, with a right to appeal.

Drivers involved in fatal or serious collisions may continue driving while investigations are ongoing. This can be distressing for families and may put others at risk. A temporary suspension would not assume guilt but would reflect the seriousness of the situation while investigations take place, helping improve safety and public confidence.
