Introduce new statutory protections for SMEs against predatory B2B contract practices by banning non cancellable terms and automatic renewals. Cap penalties, and ban aggressive debt collection, while requiring transparency, cooling off periods, and fair dealing obligation.
We are concerned that many SMEs suffer financial harm each year from misleading B2B contract practices that exploit gaps in UK law, leaving them unprotected against misleading sales tactics, hidden terms, non cancellable provisions, punitive fees, and aggressive enforcement. These practices can cause business failures and financial distress, making urgent reform essential to ensure fairness, transparency, and proportionality in SME contracting.
