We ask the Government to introduce regulations capping ride-hailing platform commission at 25% per trip and require transparency in fare and commission structures. Drivers are told lower fares improve rider affordability, yet high rates of commission impact fair earnings and transparency.
Drivers cover vehicles, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and self-employed tax. Yet commissions may hit 40-50%, slashing driver pay and pushing rider fares up. We call for a fair commission cap of 25% and transparency on fare splits. Lower commissions help provide a stable income for drivers and fairer, more predictable prices for riders.
