Raising the drinking age to 25 could help protect young adults’ developing brains, reduce alcohol-related accidents, and ease pressure on the NHS. Studies have found later drinking onset decreases addiction risk and improves public health, making this policy a smart, preventative measure.
As someone who knows the risks of alcohol and its impact on people, I think urgent action should be taken. With exam season in full swing, young people who hit the bottle if they fail their exams could be risking their own health for a substance with an unpleasant taste.
