Introduce compulsory voting in UK general elections, with reasonable exemptions. Ballots must include a “None of the Above” option so voters can formally reject all candidates without being forced to support any party.
Recently, turnout has often been low, meaning Governments are elected without significant participation. We believe mandatory voting ensures everyone takes part, while a “None of the Above” option protects freedom of choice by allowing voters to reject all candidates. We feel this strengthens legitimacy and public trust in elections.
