I believe it should be a legal requirement for CCTV to cover all areas of the venue. This includes stairwells/corridors leading up to toilet facilities to monitor the safety of customers. This could help prevent spiking and other forms of assault or support in the prosecution of the attacker.

In September 2025, I was spiked with a needle whilst coming down the stairs from the toilets. However, my case was dropped due to lack of CCTV along the stairwell it happened. I have been left with anxiety and feelings of injustice following this event and I want to make a change to support others. CCTV is so important in monitoring the safety of customers in an establishment and unfortunately, corridors and stairwells leading to toilets are hotspots for these sorts of attacks.
