Require safeguards on UK aid to Uganda so it is only provided if action is taken against organised online animal abuse and fraud. This should include cooperation with local authorities, improved enforcement of animal welfare laws, and action with social media platforms to remove abusive content.

Recent BBC News reporting has shown organised groups abusing animals online to generate money through scams and donations. This involves cruelty and public deception. We believe UK aid should not operate without safeguards where such exploitation can continue unchecked. Action is needed to protect animals, prevent fraud, protect UK citizens, and maintain trust in legitimate charities. Without conditions, animal abuse, fraud, and the risk to legitimate charities will continue.
