Call on the Government to raise the list price threshold for the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) "Expensive Car Supplement" (Luxury Road Tax) for zero-emission vehicles from the current limit to £60,000 for all such vehicles manufactured from April 2025 onwards
The current £50,000 threshold still captures many essential family-sized EVs, effectively penalising drivers for making a sustainable choice. Increasing this to £60,000 would better reflect the current market prices of long-range electric vehicles and further incentivise the transition to net-zero by making cleaner transport more affordable
