The sale of glue traps should be banned in line with the current ban on their use under the Glue Traps (Offences) Bill 2022 in order to protect animals and wildlife and limit their suffering caused by such traps.

To protect wildlife and other animals from these inhumane traps and the prolonged suffering they cause, a ban on the sale of glue traps should be introduced. The RSPCA and numerous wildlife organisations continue to report illegal use of glue traps by businesses and members of the public, despite existing restrictions. We believe prohibiting their sale except to glue-trap license holder would help prevent unnecessary animal suffering and improve animal welfare protections.
