We want the Government to ensure that pregnant women and new-born babies of mothers who are positive for group b streptococcus are tested routinely.
I was tested positive at the beginning of my pregnancy with group b streptococcus I was only tested due to going in with blood spotting when I read up about this 20-40% of people get this and can be harmless but for babies it can be serious like my son did because he was not tested for strep b when he was born we went home for a week after being in hospital for 9 days & then while home my son was clearly ill and I nearly lost him and I don’t want anyone else to go through this too.
