We want the Government to introduce a legal right for employees to take occasional wellbeing days, in addition to sick leave and annual leave, to support positive mental health, prevent burnout, and improve work-life balance.
Employees can call in sick when physically or mentally unwell, but there is no equivalent option for people experiencing exceptionally positive wellbeing. We ask the Government to introduce limited protected “wellbeing days” or “call well” leave, allowing employees to take occasional time off to maintain positive mental health, prevent burnout, and support long-term wellbeing and work-life balance.
