Devices proven to contain any intimate or abusive content linked to the victim of abuse offences should either be permanently retained by authorities or professionally wiped before return. Victims should not have to live in fear that offenders may still possess exploitative intimate material after conviction. The law must help prevent ongoing coercion, intimidation, and emotional harm.
