Manufactured gluten-free foods are essential for people with coeliac disease and intolerance, yet they are often very expensive. We call on the Government to remove VAT and seek to reduce production costs to ensure fair pricing and access to necessary dietary products.

The cost of living for coeliacs feels extortionate. People who have coeliac disease rely on a strict gluten-free diet to stay healthy. However, gluten-free foods are significantly more expensive than standard products, placing a constant financial strain on families. What should be a medical necessity is treated as a premium lifestyle choice, limiting options and accessibility. No family should have to pay more simply to keep their child well, and this inequality needs to be addressed.
