We call on the Government to ban the sale of vapes, and ban new vape shops opening, within 1km of schools. This could reduce youth exposure to nicotine products, support public health, strengthen safeguarding, and help prevent underage vaping and addiction among children and teenagers.

Youth vaping has increased significantly across the UK, with many students regularly exposed to vape shops, advertising, and disposable vape products near schools. We believe the concentration of vape retailers close to educational settings normalises nicotine use and increases the risk of addiction among young people. We are calling on the Government to introduce a 1km protection zone around schools, in order to support healthier school environments for future generations.
