Milestones

We call for a ban on media coverage of coroner’s court hearings, with an allowance only for verified summaries provided by trained court officials, not sensationalised accounts. Losing a loved one is shattering, marked by overwhelming grief, a desire for privacy during the most vulnerable times.

In our view, such a situation can be made significantly worse for families when the details of the dearly departed is spread across newspapers, and sometimes distorted & sensationalised, without due regard for family privacy. We believe that stopping media coverage of coroner’s court hearings will ensure the dignity of those who have passed and their grieving relatives can be maintained. Preserving the dignity of deceased individuals & protecting the mental well-being of their families.
