We want the Government to remove VAT from all children’s swimming lessons to keep them affordable and accessible. We believe swimming is a vital life-saving skill, not a luxury, and high costs can prevent many children from learning to swim safely.

We believe swimming is a life-saving skill, not a luxury. Adding VAT to children’s swimming lessons makes them less affordable and we feel risks excluding children from learning to swim safely. when there are fewer school swimming lessons available, private swim schools become more essential. Thousands of children leave primary school unable to swim confidently. Increasing lesson costs will, we think, only make this worse. We urge the Government to remove VAT from all children’s swimming lessons and keep swimming accessible for all children.
