We believe this is a petition everyone urgently needs to get behind. Too many lives have already sadly been lost through open water incidents. Many of these tragedies can be prevented through proper swimming and water safety education.

Although water safety is now included in the national curriculum as well as learning to swim, we believe more funding specifically for this life saving education could ensure it is delivered to the high standard that is needed. We believe every child should leave primary school able to swim, float to live, understand water dangers, and know what to do in an emergency. This petition is calling for greater investment into swimming and water safety education in primary schools.
