Youth unemployment affects young people up and down the UK. Lack of experience often blocks entry-level jobs, creating a cycle of no opportunity. We believe the Government must expand apprenticeships and encourage employers to hire young people.
Youth unemployment affects young people up and down the country. Many cannot access jobs due to lack of experience, creating a cycle of exclusion. The Government has repeatedly discussed this issue but has, we believe, failed to take meaningful action. We feel that expanding apprenticeships and entry-level opportunities would give young people experience, improve life chances, and may help reduce crime linked to financial pressure and lack of opportunity.
