We are concerned that underfunding is pushing NHS GPs to collapse. The BMA is balloting doctors on other models, including more freedom to provide private services. We feel this could mean millions are priced out of care. Government must fund a fair contract to protect free, universal GP access.

We believe underfunding and unmanageable terms are pushing NHS general practices to collapse. The British Medical Association is balloting family doctors on alternative strategies to the core contract. Potential models include more freedom to move to a means-tested, private subscription service. We feel this could mean millions of NHS patients risk being priced out of basic care. We call on the Government to agree a fair contract and protect free GP access. Protect NHS care.
