We ask the Government to fully include MPharm students in the NHS Learning Support Fund. We believe pharmacists are essential to NHS services, including Pharmacy First, yet many pharmacy students receive less support than other healthcare students despite completing clinical placements.
Despite completing clinical placements and training for a frontline healthcare profession, MPharm students do not receive the same financial support as many other healthcare students. Fully including pharmacy students in the NHS Learning Support Fund could promote fairness, reduce financial hardship, support recruitment into the profession, and help ensure the NHS has the pharmacy workforce needed to deliver its future healthcare ambitions.
