Fund targeted adolescent substance abuse awareness programmes and preventative educational resources in all secondary schools. Increase government funding for youth-specific rehabilitation centres and mental health support resources for adolescents.
Substance abuse among adolescents is still too prevalent, damaging young lives, mental health, and local communities. In our view, to tackle this effectively, we must address both prevention and recovery. We think current school education programs and youth rehabilitation services lack the necessary resources to manage this crisis. We call on the Government to increase funding for both targeted drug awareness initiatives in secondary schools and specialised youth support systems.
