We call on the Government to declare a one-off national bank holiday on the Monday immediately following the World Cup Final, should the England Men’s Football Team win the tournament.
Justification / Why it matters: Winning the World Cup would be a historic, once-in-a-generation sporting achievement for the nation. A victory of this scale deserves a moment of national celebration, bringing communities together and boosting morale across the country. Furthermore, a significant portion of the population will be staying up late to watch and celebrate the final. Declaring the following Monday a bank holiday would allow the public to celebrate safely, and support local businesses.
